2016 Silica Regulations in USA

Identifying that small, breathable particles of silica can be potentially hazardous, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has reduced the permissible exposure limit (PEL) for respirable crystalline silica to 50 micrograms per cubic meter of air, averaged over an 8-hour shift. This rule takes effect on June 23, 2016, after which industries have one to five years to comply with the majority of requirements.
The construction industry must comply by June 23, 2017.

This regulation influence the field of concrete grinding and polishing.

WAYS TO MINIMIZE EXPOSURE:

Industrial Vacuums with HEPA Filters
Improve the Vacuum Cleaner, the Fliters especially. Increase the ability of filtration。.

Use a Wet Grinding Method
